According to the news in the national press; On January 10-25, at least 18 people, 10 of whom were children, died in the Kimari district of Karachi due to a mysterious illness that led to respiratory failure.

3 Factories Closed, 4 People Detention

Officials stated that oil, fat and crude iron factories are operating in the region. The respiratory failure seen in the patients is thought to be caused by the "toxic gases" coming out of these factories.

As part of the investigation, 3 factories were closed and 4 people were detained.

The gas and other chemicals in question are being investigated.
