An explosion occurred in the city of Azershahr in Iran's East Azerbaijan province. A total of 65 people were injured, 10 of them seriously, in the explosion.

An explosion occurred at the Atlasfam Paint paint factory in Azershahr, Iran's East Azerbaijan province. A total of 65 people were injured, 10 of them seriously, in the explosion.

According to the statement made by local authorities; 150 people were affected in the explosion that took place in the paint factory named Atlasfam Boya.

East Azerbaijan Crisis Management General Manager Muhammed Bakır Hunerber noted that the explosion occurred in the paint warehouse and then the fire spread throughout the factory.

"Initial signs indicate that a gas leak in the paint tank caused the explosion," Hunerber said.

Due to the severity of the explosion, the possibility of increasing the number of injured continues.
