Billionaire businessman Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, started to realize what he wanted to do on the platform after purchasing Twitter.

Twitter executives announced that they have started deleting 1 million fake accounts daily as part of "annual cleanup". Authorities stated that they are working to eliminate the pressure initiated for bots and spam accounts.

Elon Musk's Own Follower Count Has Also Dropped

The new owner of Twitter, billionaire businessman Elon Musk, gave up buying Twitter after the number of fake accounts on the platform was more than he was told. However, with a new deal made later, Musk bought Twitter.

Musk, who started to work quickly to make a series of changes on Twitter, stated that the 'spam and fraudulent accounts' on the platform were cleaned and announced that the number of followers of the users could decrease.

Due to the step taken, Musk's own follower count also dropped. It is estimated that fake accounts make up 5 percent of the total number of users on Twitter.
