Dubai, one of the 7 governments that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE), abolished the 30% tax on alcohol sales. It also stopped being charged for the personal license that those who want to drink alcohol must have.

According to Dubai law, non-Muslims over the age of 21 can drink alcohol, provided they have an alcohol license from the police. It was stated that the amendment will be valid for one year in the first place and can be extended if it contributes positively to tourism. Two companies that distribute alcohol in the city announced that they will reflect the tax reduction to their customers.

It is aimed to increase the attractiveness of Dubai, which leads a more free life compared to other Gulf cities.
