Tehran University Seismology Center announced that two earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.8 and 5.7 occurred within 2 minutes of each other in Iran's Hormuzgan province.

Two major earthquakes occurred in Iran, one of Turkey's border neighbors. In the statement made by the Tehran University Seismology Center, it was reported that the earthquakes occurred in Bender Hemir city of Iran's Hormuzgan province at 20:37 and 20:39 local time with 5.8 and 5.7 magnitudes. No loss of life or property has been reported so far in the earthquake, the depth of which is described as 10 to 9 kilometers.

There was a brief panic after the earthquake. Iranian media announced the news of the earthquake to the world with an emergency code.
